Passion from Experience
In 2011, Navigoe Founder Scott Leonard and his family departed on a 2 ½-year journey sailing through the Caribbean and the South Pacific, where he remotely worked to continue supporting clients with their wealth management needs. During the trip, the amount of plastic pollution they found on uninhabited islands in the South Pacific was alarming. The family also noticed the amount of plastic found in their everyday products and food packaging, which they carried with them along much of the journey until it could be properly disposed of.
This experience shaped much of Navigoe’s environmental initiatives, our impact on the planet, and, specifically, single-use plastic. To make a difference, our team became a 1% for the Planet member, is a California Certified Green Business, has adopted the Redondo Beach Marina/King Harbor, and takes time away from the office to volunteer in the community.

One of the ways we live this value is by giving back 1% of our gross revenue to the planet.

Being a Certified Green Business shows our community and clients that we care about sustainability and that we’re committed to taking action to conserve resources and prevent pollution in both the facility and our operations. Our business complies with environmental regulations for waste, energy, water, pollution prevention, and air quality. Our clients can feel good knowing that their support of Navigoe is also helping to support our environment.
Community Support
Navigoe commits our financial and volunteer support to local charities focusing on the environment, animal protection and rescue, community involvement, and education. Here are some of the charities that we support.
PALOS VERDES LAND CONSERVANCY
Their mission says it all: “Preserve. Restore. Educate. Enjoy.” They focus on restoring natural habitats to support the endangered species on the Peninsula, engaging the community with education and volunteering activities.
SOUTH BAY PARKLAND CONSERVANCY
South Bay Parkland Conservancy is dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and public use of coastal land resources in the South Bay Region. From restoring butterfly habitats to creating a community garden, SBPC involves the community with volunteering and educational activities.
AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC
The aquarium conserves species and ecosystems, including sea turtles, abalone, giant sea bass, corals, sharks, penguins, and sea otters. They spend abundant resources to educate the greater Los Angeles community.
ROUNDHOUSE AQUARIUM
Programs at the Roundhouse Aquarium promote the study of the oceans, tidelands, and beaches of Southern California through a wide slate of science-based and standards-aligned education programs with immersive and engaging exhibits of a diverse array of marine life.
HEAL THE BAY
Navigoe has partnered with Heal the Bay for their “Adopt-a-Beach” program. Navigoe has adopted the Redondo Beach Marina, King Harbor, and the surrounding beach.

As part of our 1% for the Planet membership, Navigoe is planning a number of volunteer events. Some events will be exclusively for the Navigoe Crew, while some events will also be open to our clients as well.
In celebration of Earth Day, we held our inaugural event and volunteered for the South Bay Park Conservancy at Wilderness Park.
