"My goal is to help clients make good decisions by providing them with information and objective advice through a process focused on comprehensive planning and financial education."
- Don Hance, Jr.

My Background and What Brought Me Here…

Before beginning my career in the financial planning industry, I spent several years running my own technology related start-up. There I learned a great deal about what motivates people, the work that goes into building wealth, and the importance of technology in our lives today. One of the things that initially drew me to Navigoe is their commitment to using technology to improve communication, increase interaction, and ease clients’ ability to access information that uncomplicates decision-making. Ultimately, though, Navigoe’s overarching philosophy to offer only the best, most objective advice in all situations was the driving factor in my decision to join the team.

Why I Chose This Profession…

My journey into this field began with a simple introductory course in financial planning. At first, I took the class to learn about wealth management for my own benefit, but quickly found myself becoming interested in its larger applications. One course led to the next, and it was through completing the UCLA Financial Planning curriculum that I recognized the importance of an ongoing financial education. I am fortunate that I find genuine fulfillment in helping others navigate the financial landscape in order to reach their financial goals. It is because of this fulfillment that I continue to sharpen my skills and deepen my knowledge of the financial planning field.

Outside of Work, I’m Most Passionate About…

Like many Southern Californians, I am passionate about getting outside and enjoying life with family and friends. Taking advantage of the surrounding area’s consistent warm weather, I regularly play baseball and softball, hike, and head to the beach. When I can combine family and friends with outdoor activities on a regular basis, I notice I’m more passionate in all other areas of my life. Because of this, I like to organize activities that nurture these recursive feelings whenever I am able.

When Not in the Office, Look for Me…

  • Reading – mostly personal finance or business books these days
  • Playing baseball or softball
  • Exercising – usually at the gym, running on the beach, or hiking
  • At the local farmer’s market
  • Rooting for my LA Teams – Dodgers, Lakers, and especially USC Football

How I’m Advancing My Career Knowledge
